The question you are probably asking yourself is, "Doesn't most concrete eventually crack?" Yes it does. Fortunately, we know now that shrinkage during the cure process causes cracks. Shrinkage is caused by to much water in the concrete mixture. DCS uses a special mix designed specifically for countertops, in which the use of water is drastically minimalized. The lack of water means there is no shrinkage, which means your countertop will not crack.
Concrete is a remarkable substance. It can be made into any shape then hardens into a solid mass. Since concrete has an earthy feel it is a great addition to many rooms in your home, especially kitchens and bathrooms.
How does concrete rival against the ever popular granite? Good question. With concrete you can create any shape you can imagine at varying thicknesses which gives a more 3-dimensional look than the typical flat design of granite or synthetic stone counters. With concrete you are not limited to colors or finishes like its granite rival. When you pour a concrete countertop you are literally creating a canvas in which color and design possibilities are endless. You can stamp it, or embed objects into it-stones, tile, metal, etc. The possibilities are endless!
